Tired of having open jump rings fail on you? If you are looking for a permanent way to close them, this all-level workshop will teach you everything you need to know. Students will learn essential soldering techniques for soldering sterling silver and gold-filled wire. As with all of Iris's classes, she will emphasize keeping the soldering steps low-tech and non-toxic.Prerequisite: NoneMaterials: 18g & 20g dead soft sterling silver, silver-filled or gold-filled wireEasy wire solder or easy solder pasteNOTE: If you have long hair, it is recommended that you bring a hair tie or headband to keep hair away from the butane torches students will be using.Students are encouraged to bring jump ring repair projects to spark discussion. Or you may start a new project, and everything you need is available in the class. Choosing your materials and designing your jewelry is part of the class. Materials for your project are not included in the class fee. You may choose from our large selection or bring your own. At the end of class you will pay for the materials you used for your project.
