Operations Assistant
You'll be responsible for updating our website, identifying items to purchase, receiving shipments, creating receiving vouchers, inventory work, order fulfillment, computer work, class logistics, creating marketing emails, posting on social networks, and other behind-the-scenes tasks involved with running a thriving retail operation. Essential Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills:
- Fluency using Excel, including experience with:
- Sorting
- Creating formulas
- Dragging formulas across multiple cells
- Formatting cells
- Selecting print areas
- Experience with Windows platform
- Ability to navigate quickly between open windows on a computer
- Ability to learn new programs quickly with a positive, can-do spirit
- Ability to operate different styles of mice with ease and speed (without a significant learning curve)
- Good writing skills for customer service emails
- Good math skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work efficiently, thoroughly, and quickly, while observing attention to detail
- Ability to work both individually and harmoniously within a team
These Qualifications are a plus:
- Familiarity with Dreamweaver and/or html
- Ability to modify pictures with Photoshop, Corel, or comparable program
- Experience posting on social networks, including Facebook, twitter, pinterest
- Previous beading experience
Must be able to work
at least 15-20 hours per week during weekdays as part of your regular work schedule.

Part-Time Sales Associate
If you are a person who loves beading, loves helping others love beading and can efficiently operate a computer, you are the one we are looking for. Please keep reading!
Work in our fast-paced, inspiring retail bead store
in Alameda. We hire friendly people who want to inspire others through their love
of beading and to provide excellent customer service. The associate will also
be responsible for maintaining the store space, computer work, inventory work
and other behind-the-scenes tasks involved with running a retail operation.
The following is required as part of your regular work schedule:
- At least 12 hours per week
- One weekend day every week (6-8 hour shifts)
- One to two weekday evening shifts per week (minimum 4:00-7:30pm, sometimes later)
You'll also be needed during these events:
- Both weekend days during bead shows where we are selling. This includes the Northern California Bead Bazaar in the spring and the Bay Area Bead Extravaganza in November.
- Thanksgiving weekend: two out of the three days - Fri, Sat, Sun
- One weekend day every weekend in December
- One-two evenings per week in December sometimes until 9:30 pm, especially the week before Christmas

Attend monthly paid staff meetings (approx. 2 hours) outside of your regular work schedule.

- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Strong computer skills.
- Need to operate different styles of mice with ease and speed (without a significant learning curve)
- Previous experience with Excel, Word, and Windows platform
- Ability to navigate quickly between open windows on a computer
- Ability to learn new programs with a positive, can-do spirit
- Have used computer at least 4 days a week in the past 2 years as part of your normal routine
