STEP by STEPS
Step 1: Create a beaded nest.
* Inspired by "Sparrow Nests" by Monica Dennis in April 2009 Bead
Trends.
A. Cut a 24" length of Vintaj Bronze wire. String three 6mm Swarovski lt. blue pearls, positioning them in the center of the wire.
B. Twist the wire around the three beads so the they form a triangle.
C. Begin wrapping one side of the wire around the outside of the three beads.
Wrap the beads leaving approximately 4" of wire at the end. Wrap the other
side of the wire leaving approximately 6" of wire.
D. Thread one of the loose ends of wire up and under the nest of wire, wrapping
around the outside coils 4-5 times. Repeat with the second loose end of wire,
wrapping around 4-5 times in two places as shown. Trim excess wire. Set nest
aside.
Step 2: Wire wrap creative hoop & hook.
* Inspired by "Purple Aventurine & Pearl" by Michelle Hamby in
April 2009 Bead Trends.
A. Using your hands adjust the width of the creative hoop by pulling the ends
away from each other, leaving approximately 5" between looped ends.
B. Cut a 2" length of 24 gauge Vintaj Bronze wire.
C. Anchor one end of the wire to the end of the creative hoop (near the loop)
by wrapping it three times.
D. String a 4mm silk bicone crystal and wrap the wire around the creative hoop
three times.
E. Repeat step 2-D eleven times, adding a 4mm silk bicone crystal and alternating
a 4mm padparadscha crystal after every third silk crystal along the creative
hoop.
F. Secure the end of the wire onto the creative hoop by wrapping the wire three
times. Trim excess wire.
G. Embellish hook using the same wire wrap technique as the creative hoop alternating
4mm silk crystals and 4mm padparadscha crystals.
Step 3: Create your bead links.
A. String a 7mm rose quartz gemstone to a 1.5" eye pin. Create a wrapped
loop on straight end of wire.
B. Repeat step 3-A four times, ending up with a total of four 7mm rose quartz
gemstones and one 16 x 13mm cherry quartz faceted oval.
C. Connect bead links using 5.25mm jump rings, placing the cherry quartz in
the center of the rose quartz gemstones.
Step 4: Assemble necklace.
A. Attach a 5.25mm jump ring to the bird next through a single section of wire
and through the front or head end of soaring sparrow's loop. Attach a 7.25mm
jump ring opposite of the first jump ring, through the opening of the coiled
wire section between two beads and through the back or tail end of soaring sparrow's
loop. Use a beading awl if you need to widen the loop.
B. Attach a 5.25mm jump ring to the front or head end of soaring sparrow's loop
and through the loop of the creative hoop closest to the wrapped beads.
C. Attach a 5.25mm jump ring to the opposite end of the creative hoop and through
a wrapped loop of a 7mm rose quartz gemstone section.
D. Attach a 5.25mm jump ring to the loop end of the embellished hook.
E. Attach a 9mm etched jump ring to the back or tail end of the soaring sparrow's
loop to catch the hook as the necklace clasp.
Your necklace is complete, Enjoy!
