Step By Step Instructions

Note: You do not need to use flush cutters to cut the Vintaj Cable Chain. You merely open and close the links of the chain to separate it into sections. No waste! It works easiest if you use 2 pairs of chain nose pliers, one in each hand, since the chain is strong.

You will assemble the filigree wrapped pendant first, then the inner chain, then the outer chain, add the clasp, and finally, add the dangle on the end of the pendant.

1. Assemble the filigree wrapped pendant:
  • Turn in the edges of the Passion Flower Filigree to about the same size as the Rhyolite coin bead. You may use your round nose pliers or bail- making pliers. It works best to turn one side, then the other, alternately repeating sides.
  • Set the focal coin bead inside the filigree. Crimp down the edges to secure the bead around the front of the bead, using your fingers or chain nose pliers, a petal at a time.
  • Make sure that all sides of the filigree are symmetrical and holding the focal bead securely.
2. Assemble the following units on 1" eye pins:
  • SET 1 (make 8 of these units): a Daisy bead cap, a Chrysolite Satin 8mm round crystal, and a Daisy bead cap.
  • SET 2 (make 4 of these units): an Indian Red 4mm bicone crystal, a Daisy bead cap, a New Ocean Jasper coin bead, a Daisy bead cap, and an Indian Red 4mm bicone crystal.
  • SET 3 (make 2 of these units): a Chrysolite Satin 4mm round crystal, a Pineapple bead, and a Chrysolite Satin 4mm round crystal.
3. Assemble one of these on a 1" head pin: an Indian Red 4mm bicone crystal, a Daisy bead cap, a Chrysolite Satin 8mm round crystal, and a Daisy bead cap.

4. Open and close the links on the Vintaj Cable Chain With Flattened Loops and separate the chain into the following sections:
  • 14 sections of 9 links each
  • 2 sections of 7 links each
  • 2 sections of 11 links each
  • 2 sections of 3 links each
  • 1 section of 13 links
5. Assemble the inner chain of the necklace:
  • Take one of the 3-link chain sections you made in Step 4. Open one of the end links, and carefully insert it into an opening of the Passion Flower Filigree, on one side of one of the petals. (You may need to open the filigree wrap a teeny bit to make this happen.) Close the chain link (and the filigree if you opened it slightly).
  • Now attach the following to the other end of the 3-link chain section: a SET 1 unit, a 9-link chain section, a SET 1 unit, a 9-link chain section, a SET 1 unit, a 9-link chain section, a SET 1 unit, and a 9-link chain section.
  • Attach the other end of the ending 9-link chain section to the inside corner of  the  3-hole Filigree Connector (if you see the 3-hole Filigree Connector as a triangle, you are attaching to one of the holes on the bottom of the triangle.)
  • Repeat the same steps above. This time you will attach the second 3-link chain section to the other side of the same petal of the Passion Flower Filigree.
6. Assemble the outer chain of the necklace:
  • Take one of the 9-link chain sections you made in Step 4. Open one of the end links, and carefully insert it into an opening of the Passion Flower Filigree (the center of the next petal to where you attached the inner chain in Step 5). Close the chain link. (Refer to the website picture if it helps.)
  • Now attach the following to the other end of the 9-link chain section: a SET 2 unit, a 9-link chain section, a SET 3 unit, a 9-link chain section, a SET 2 unit, and an 11-link chain unit.
  • Attach the other end of the 11-link chain section to the outside corner of the 3-hole filigree connector already attached to the inner chain of the necklace.
  • Repeat the same steps above. This time you will attach another 9-link chain section to the other side of the Passion Flower Filigree (the center of the next petal to where you attached the inner chain in Step 5).
7. Assemble the clasp:
  • Attach a 7-link chain section to each 3-hole Filigree Connector, one on each side of the necklace.
  • Join one 7-link chain section to one end of the Swirl Clasp Set. Then join the other 7-link chain section to the other end of the Swirl Clasp Set. (You can do this by opening and closing the jump ring and the small loop end of the swirl clasp, or by opening and closing the chain links.)
  • Now is a good time to adjust the chains to make sure the necklace hangs evenly.
8. Add the dangle to the filigree wrapped pendant:
  • Open one end of the 13-link chain section. Insert the link into the opening opposite of the petal to where you attached the outer chain of the necklace. This should be on one side of a filigree petal. Close the link.
  • Open the other end of the 13-link chain and fasten to the opening on the other side of the filigree petal where you attached the other end of the 13-link chain section.  Close the link.
  • Now, open the head pin loop of the unit you made in STEP 3 above, fasten it onto the center link of the 13-link chain section, and close the head pin loop.
Voila! You have finished your beautiful Rhyolite Beauty Necklace!
