Tools Needed

Step By Step Instructions

  1. Assemble 4 of these components:
On a 1" eye pin, place a daisy bead cap, a round rhodochrosite, and a daisy bead cap, then make a simple loop at the end of the eye pin. Be sure the bead caps are cupping the rhodochrosite. (If using Artistic Wire, make a wire wrap at each end instead.)
  2. Assemble 2 of these components:
On a 1" eye pin, place a melon bead, a tube bead, and a melon bead, then make a simple loop at the end of the eye pin. (If using Artistic Wire, make a wire wrap at each end instead.)
  3. Assemble 2 of these components:
On a 1" eye pin, place an egg-shaped filigree bead and make a simple loop. (If using Artistic Wire, make a wire wrap at each end instead.)
  4. Wrapping the clover petal filigree around the rectangle rhodochrosite:
    • Use your round nose pliers to shape the filigree to the size of the bead.
    • To turn the "scroll", start by holding your round nose pliers at the tip of the filigree. Turn one side, then move your pliers to the other side and turn, alternatively repeating until the filigree has been formed to the basic shape of your bead.
    • Place the stone in the filigree and use your fingers to push the filigree around the front of the bead.
    • Make sure that all four sides of the filigree are keeping the bead secure.
  5. Assembly -- Note: with the Vintaj chain, you won't need jump rings. It is even easier if you use 2 chain nose pliers, one in each hand, to open and close the loops of the chain, as it is fairly stiff. You will be working from the pendant upward towards the clasp in the following steps. Be sure to refer to the website picture if necessary.
    • Count out 5 links of chain and fasten one end to the top of one side of the clover petal wrap, and fasten the other end to one of the segments you made in Step 1 above (round rhodochrosite assemblage).
    • Count out 8 links of chain and fasten the other end of the Step 1 segment to one end of the chain. On the other end of the chain, fasten one of the segments you made in Step 3 above (filigree bead assemblage).
    • Count out 2 links of chain and fasten one end of the chain to the chain connected to the filigree bead assemblage. Fasten a second segment from Step 1 to the other end of the 2-link chain.
    • Count out 3 links of chain and fasten one end to the other end of the second round rhodochrosite assemblage. On the other end of the 3-linked chain, fasten one segment you made from Step 2 above (melon/tube beads assemblage).
    • Using 1 link of chain, connect the other end of the melon/tube beads assemblage to the chain link fastened to the clover petal wrap. You should now have two strands between the filigree bead assemblage and the filigree pendant.
    • Repeat the above 5 steps to the other side of the filigree pendant.
    • Connect the two filigree bead assemblages with the remaining chain.
    • In the middle of the chain connecting the two sides together, open one link and add the hook.
