Step By Step Instructions

Note: You do not need to use flush cutters to cut the Vintaj Cable Chain. You merely open and close the links of the chain to separate it into sections. No waste! It works easiest if you use 2 pairs of chain nose pliers, one in each hand, since the chain is strong.

You will assemble the filigree wrapped pendant first, then the various chains and attachments, add the neck chain and clasp component, and finally, add the dangle on the end of the pendant.

  1. Assemble the filigree wrapped pendant:
    • Turn in the edges of one of the Passion Flower Filigrees to about the same size as the lampwork glass coin bead. You may use your round nose pliers, flat nose pliers, or bail-making pliers. It works best to turn one side, then the other, alternately repeating sides.
    • Once the filigree has been formed to the basic shape of your bead, place the focal lampwork glass bead inside the filigree and use your fingers to push the filigree around the front of the bead, one petal at a time.
    • Make sure all sides of the filigree are symmetrical and holding the focal bead securely.
  2. Secure the filigree wrapped bead to the second, open (unwrapped) filigree:
    • Locate holes on the back of your filigree-wrapped bead that appear to have the most space to accommodate a piece of wire.
    • Cut two 6-inch pieces of your 24g Vintaj wire.
    • Thread one piece of the wire through a couple of filigree holes about 1/3 from the top of the bead, so that the two ends of the wire are sticking out the back of the filigree.
    • Thread the other piece of wire about 1/3 from the bottom of the filigree-wrapped bead.
    • Weave each piece of wire through the open (unwrapped) filigree and pull it tight. Weave each wire back through about 3 times, or until secure.
    • Trim any excess wire and tuck in the ends. Look to see if the top of the filigree wrapped bead sags away from the open filigree. If it does, grab onto the wire on the back of the open filigree with your round nose pliers to twist the wire into place, which will tighten the wire, and pull in the filigree-wrapped bead.
  3. Separate the Petite Etched Cable Chain into the following pieces. Remember, you do not need to cut Vintaj chain. You can simply open and close the links using chain nose pliers (one in each hand works best).
    • 2 pieces of 12 links each
    • 2 pieces of 14 links each
    • 2 pieces of 23 links each
  4. Assemble three of the following units on 1" brass eye pins: a Foliage bead cap, a light green lampwork glass marble bead, and a Foliage bead cap. Make a loop on the other end of the eye pin, trimming if necessary.
  5. On the single hole of a Vintaj Metamorphis Drop, attach one unit from Step 4. Repeat for the other Vintaj Metamorphis Drop.
  6. On the other end of the Vintaj Metamorphis Drops, there are 3 holes. Attach pieces of Petite Etched Cable Chain as follows:
    • Bottom (outer) hole: 23 links
    • Middle hole: 14 links
    • Top (inner) hole: 12 links

Refer to the picture on our website if necessary. Be sure to do this to both Vintaj Metamorphis Drops. It is best to lay these on a table, one Metamorphis Drop on the left, and one on the right, after you have finished attaching the chains.

  7. Now, attach the Petite Etched Cable Chains to the Passion Flower center piece as follows:
    • Top chain: attach right-hand chain to the top hole in a petal of the filigree pendant. Skip a petal, and attach a left-hand chain to the next petal over.
    • Middle chain: attach right-hand chain to the next petal on that side. Attach left-hand chain to the next petal on the other side.
    • Bottom chain: attach right-hand chain to the next petal on that side. Attach left-hand chain to the next petal on the other side.
  8. Assemble the large chain and clasp:
    • Divide the 10" of Elongated Oval Chain in half (remember, you can open and close the links so you don't need to cut the chain).
    • Using one of the pieces of Elongated Oval Chain, attach one end of the chain to one side of the necklace assemblage by opening and closing a chain link and connecting to the eye pin loop of one of the foliage bead cap/glass marble units. On the other end of the same Elongated Oval Chain piece, attach one side of the Swirl Clasp by opening and closing a chain link.
    • Repeat the above step for the other side of the necklace, using the other piece of Elongated Oval Chain and the other side of the Swirl Clasp.
  9. Now for the final touch: attach the third unit from Step 4 to the bottom petal of the Passion Flower center piece pendant.

VOILA! You have finished your beautiful Passion Necklace!
