Techniques Used Opening and closing a jump ring/chain link

Step By Step Instructions

Note:  No need to cut your chain and waste any of it!  Just use your chain nose (or flat nose) pliers to open and close the chain links just as you would a jump ring. 
Hint:  Using 2 pairs of chain nose pliers helps, since the chain is very strong.

1. Separate your Elongated Oval Chain into 3 pieces as follows:  one 19-link chain, one 16-link chain, and one 14-link chain.  For the left over chain, you will want to separate the links to use individually as if they were jump rings.  Later, you will use them to attach the Enameled Lock Plate Charm and to hang all the different keys onto the Eternity Garden Ring.
   
2. Connect the Eternity Garden Ring to one end of the 19-link chain.  On the other end of the chain, open the link and connect just the swirly part of the Swirl Clasp. 
   
3. Now, hook one end of the 16-link chain to the Swirl Clasp you fastened in Step 2, and then attach another Swirl Clasp (just the swirly part) to the other end of the 16-link chain.
   
4. Now, hook one end of the 14-link chain to the second Swirl Clasp you just fastened in Step 3, and then attach a third Swirl Clasp (again, just the swirly part) to the other end of the 14-link chain.
5. This time, hook the ring part of the Swirl Clasp to the third Swirl Clasp you put on in Step 4, and fasten this ring to the top hole of the Enameled Lock Plate Charm.
   
6. On the bottom hole of the Enameled Lock Plate Charm, fasten an individual chain link, and attach this to the Eternity Garden Ring.
7. On the 5.25mm nickel-free brass jump ring, connect the Double Sided Key Charm to the Secret Key. Then use an individual chain link to attach the Secret Key (with Double Sided Key Charm dangling) onto the Eternity Garden Ring.
8. On another individual chain link, connect the Enameled Heart Charm and the Teensie Ornate Key, and then attach it to the Eternity Garden Ring.
   
9. Wow!  Now, you're ready to hang the remaining keys onto the Eternity Garden Ring using the individual chain links (open and close the links). You can hang the keys in whatever order you wish, or refer to the website picture.
