Fusing is an ancient technique used to permanently connect precious metals. Cleaner, faster and less toxic than soldering, this is an excellent introduction to torch work. Students will learn to fuse bracelets, as well as embellish them with texturing and polishing.
This class has been designed so that no previous fusing experience is required.
Great for beginners, but folks with fusing experience will be learning
What you will learn:
• Learn to fuse fine silver wire using a butane torch
• Tips & tricks for texturing & polishing your fused pieces
• Make design decisions
• Choosing materials & tools
• 12 gauge & 14 gauge fine silver wire (1/2 - 1 oz. per person recommended)
Don't forget your reading or non-tinted glasses for safety!
Please come to class prepared with the above materials for your project. All
materials are available for purchase on the day of class. Additional beads for
embellishment are also available for purchase on the day of class. Choosing
your materials and designing your jewelry is part of the class. Materials for
your project are not included in the class fee. You may choose from our large
selection or bring your own. At the end of class you will pay for the materials
you used for your project. All necessary tools will be provided in the class
by the instructor.
