Rings


Briolette Wrapping

What you will learn:
• Choosing materials for putting a wire wrap on a briolette-shaped bead
• Two different methods of wrapping briolettes
• Designing with briolettes

Prerequisite: Basic Earring Workshop, Wire Work Necklace Workshop, or equivalent. (Student should be familiar with making a wire wrap.) Note: If you do not know how to do a wire wrap, you can either sign up for a Basic Earring Workshop, Wire Work Necklace Workshop, or take a 1-hour private lesson ($55/hr) before the class.

Materials: Everything you need is available in the class. Choosing your materials and designing your jewelry is part of the class. You may bring your own materials or choose from our large selection. At the end of class you will pay for the materials you used for your project. All necessary tools will be provided in the class by the instructor.

Class fee:
$30, plus materials. (Cost of materials varies depending on the materials you choose.)

Crystal Cuff Bracelet

This dazzling cuff bracelet is a wonderful piece for any occassion! Although the weave may look tricky, once you get the basic steps down, this bracelet whizzes right along. Create a rainbow piece like the sample pictured (available to purchase in our webstore or in the shop), a dual-color piece, or a different combination entirely. The possibilities are endless!

Beaded Fringe

Embellish your latest beading project with some fun fringe! This class will expand upon basic seed-beading techniques. Add some movement to a tiny treasure pouch, peyote cuff, or another piece that simply needs embellishment by adding a series of seed bead dangles, accompanied by other beads of your choice. Students will need to bring already-made single-strand jewelry, towels, scarves, heavy-duty ribbon or a peyote bag to embellish.

Prerequisite:
Previous stringing experience.

Fused Pendants & Stackable Rings

Further your fire-manipulation skills to make a two different styles of rings... those that can be worn on your fingers and those that can be multi-layered as pendants. Beyond just fusing fine silver, in class you will learn to add embellishments, including hammering, surface texturing, stamping, polishing, and wire-wrapping beads. You will also learn to size finger rings for proper fit. Exclusive Sandkühler Studio Design.

Prerequisite: Previous experience with fusing and/or working with a torch.

Materials:
• 14 gauge & 16 gauge fine silver wire

All materials are available for purchase on the day of class. Additional beads for embellishment are also available for purchase on the day of class. All necessary tools will be provided.

PMC Rings

Adorn your fingers with Precious Metal Clay! Expand upon your PMC texturizing and firable stone-setting skills, plus learn how to size a ring using a mandrel. Learn which types of PMC (syringe, clay & paste) work best when creating a PMC ring, and leave with a sparkling bauble you will treasure!

Prerequisite: Introduction to PMC or previous experience with PMC.

Materials: Materials kit includes everything you need to make at least one thick ring, or two smaller rings, depending on amount of clay used for each piece. Please bring your tool kit from the introductory class. If you did not take our introductory class, please bring these items: cutting tool, paint brush, craft knife, emery board, polishing cloth, smooth rolling tool and a smooth work surface (plastic page sleeve would suffice).

Class fee: $90, plus $65 kit.

Befuddled by fusing while using beads? Come learn the secrets of creating delightfully delicate beaded jewelry components. Learn which beads are suited best for fusing, as well as which wire to use for beaded fusing projects. Create charms, pendants, or dangly earring components. The possibilities are endless!

The multi-strand necklace is a wonderful way for you to expand your basic stringing techniques, learn more about color and design, learn how beads drape around your neck, plus you will learn how to artfully attach multiple strands of beads to your clasp using decorative cones. Learn to create a full, luxurious necklace that is guaranteed to make a statement!

Herringbone Weave

This cool bezel encases your beautiful gemstones or glass beads to make links for a bracelet or necklace, earring components or pendants. You can create organic or sleek designs, depending on beads used.

Jen's Pind Chain

This sleak, streamlined chain maille weave is a little trickier than some of your basic weaves, but it is equally satisfying. The challenge of this pattern is well worth the results!

Prerequisite: Previous chain-making experience.

Materials: Materials kit includes everything you need to make a sterling silver bracelet. Although tools are provided, the number is limited. Please bring 2 pairs of flat nose pliers if you have them. Beadsmith and Lindstrom tools are available for purchase in the store prior to or during class.

Class fee: $50, plus $40 kit

PMC Bezel Settings for Non-Fired Stones

Create gorgeous settings for your favorite gemstones! Many natural stones cannot withstand the high heat of kiln-firing without breaking, so Lynn Cobb will show you how to mount your delicate gems into settings you will create by texturizing, shaping & firing yourself!

Prerequisite: Introduction to PMC, plus two additional PMC classes or significant experience with PMC.

Materials: Materials kit includes everything you need to make several settings for pendants or components; actual number of settings you will create depends on amount of PMC used for each one. Please bring your tool kit from the introductory class. If you did not take our introductory class, please bring these items: cutting tool, paint brush, craft knife, emery board, polishing cloth, smooth rolling tool and a smooth work surface (plastic page sleeve would suffice). Semi-precious, cubic zirconia and dichroic glass cabochons are available for purchase during class.

Class fee: $90, plus $65 kit.
